Flynn

Flynn is laying on her nice soft bed on the floor beside me. We almost put her down today. She is 16.5 years old and is not doing so well. She's been stumbling the last month. We got her into the vet on Monday and he said that she has spinal arthritis, which is expected at her age. She also has cataracts that are causing partial blindness so she's walking into things. He gave us pain pills to try and see how she did. Today when Jim got home from work, she couldn't walk and one eye was completely grey and swollen shut. She was also shaking alot. Jim got another emergency vet appt and told me he was just going to have her put down because he doesn't like seeing her in pain. The vet said that she has an ulcerated cornea, probably scratched, thats causing the eye problem. He said she is really healthy otherwise and just up the pain meds for the arthritis. They thought we should see how she does before we put her down. Its so heartbreaking. She is such part of our family. I'm hoping she pulls through this. She is eating, drinking and going potty so all of that is normal. She's sleeping soundly now so I think the pain pills zonked her out. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
Flynn and Princess got into a fight the other morning. Princess has noticed Flynns not up to par and moved in on her food. Flynn fought but ultimately Princess won. I'm pretty sure thats how Flynns eye got injured.
