Baby Quail

We had some baby quail in our back yard on Thursday and Friday. It was fun seeing them but since we have dogs it was a bit stressful for me. The quail where down in the yard where the dogs could get them. They can't fly yet. The quail parents where up on the wall calling to them but there was no way for them to make it up. It put a 2X4 out to make a ramp for them. The next morning one of the babies had made it up on the retaining wall but the other baby was gone. There are a few hawks around so maybe it got ate. Very sad anyway. The remaining baby was gone Friday when I got home from work. Hopefully it is someplace safe.
