Arizona has no limit on cool places to explore. Mom and Dad came down for Thanksgiving and we took the opportunity to head out off the beaten path again. Mom and Dad never know where we might take them but they are guaranteed an adventure. This adventure took us south of Tucson about an hour to a place called Kentucky Camp. Kentucky camp was built in 1904 and probably the headquarters of the Santa Rita Mining and Water companny. Later it was turned into a large ranch house. In 1989-1992 there was a TV show being filmed in the area called "The Young Riders" and they gave a generous donation that started renovation and stabilization of the buildings. Now it is being upkept by the US Forest Service and there is a small house on the property that is rented out by the night in the room with a view program.
On the way home we took a detour down Mescal Road. Back as far as we could go.
