The trip up there was uneventful until we tried to land. Just before our wheels were to touch down the pilot changed his mind and took off again. I thought I was going to die. There was another plane on the runway that didn't get off in time. Very scary. However, I did make it there and back in one piece. I posted some pictures of Mt. Ranier and puget sound when I flew into Seattle. Here are some pictures of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood when we flew out. I'm not sure which mountain that is south of Mt. Hood that barely shows up in the photo. Please enlighten me if you know.

Fun to see your pictures! You look GREAT Donna (Cheryl does too)!
We had that same plane experience once coming into Salt Lake City. Thankfully after we touched and went up again, we circled over where we used to live, so we tried to find our old house to take our minds off what had just happened. It's very scary though.
Thanks for sharing!! Nice pictures of you and your family!!! We are having fun days here as our summer winds down... only one more week and the kids are back in school!!!
Wow, the advantage of flying in the summer is the beautiful views unobstructed by clouds! But sorry to hear about your scary two-tries-to-land landing! As for your photo of Mount Hood, I think the mountain south of it you're wondering about might what is called "The Three Sisters" collectively. (At least they appear to be directly south of Mt. Hood on the map, however, there are others in between, and the whole thing is known as the Oregon Cascades, I believe.) Next time I fly to AZ, maybe I'll bring a map! - because I've always seen a lot of mountains I couldn't identify either when I have flown between Seattle and Phoenix.
