Adventure to the Coke Ovens
Saturday we where invited to go four wheeling with some of our good friends. We drove up to Florence and then went off road. We were going to go see the Coke Ovens. We had no idea what that was...but we are always game for an adventure. We knew it would be off road and somewhat challenging but we are rookies and so it was really challenging for us. We have a 2009 Toyota FJ and knew it would be up for the challenge. We started out at 5:30am for the drive to Florence and were off road by 8am. Some of the highlights of the trip was seeing an old stagecoach depot. The scenery was amazing and what I had never seen before here in Arizona. Breathtaking. We had one small mishap with the FJ and got a nice scape, dent, scratches in the side but it can be fixed. The good thing was that we all got out safe despite getting lost. We came real close to spending the night in the desert. All in All, it was a great adventure. Not sure I will do it again anytime soon but it was an adventure.
By the way, our FJ is completely stock off the showroom. No modifications with street tires. As you can see, it did awesome!
