Saturday's sorry hike

Jim and I went for a hike on Saturday morning. We thought we were going to go to Phoenix and then we didn't have to so I got the hike off the Internet and chose this one because it was only about 8 miles from home. Supposedly you walk up this wash a ways (1.5 miles) and then head off on another trail to a picnic area with great views of some mountain. Well, we walked and walked and walked and walked for miles in this wash and never found the trail that led off it. Then we came to a fence across the wash and there was a trail around it and wandering off so we followed that. We finally met up with a women who couldn't figure out what trail we were talking about. We then gave up and went back through the wash and walked and walked. The great shoes that I paid a lot of money for and thought they were broke in...well, they gave me massive blisters on both heals and it hurt to walk.

Footprints of a very large animal.

But it was pretty if we stopped long enough to look around. It was so hard walking in at least 3 inches of gravel.

Someone left their trash in Saguaro Natl Park. Stupid People!!

Then it took us over an hour to get back home because of the El Tour de Tucson bike race.
