Eagles

I've been watching the Hornby eagles.

This is a pair of eagles that have been nesting up in Canada. Now there are too little babies in the nest, David and Alexandra. I can feel myself being sucked in again to the drama of the nest and I'm not sure its a good thing. Last year, there was one baby and he was just about ready to leave the nest when he fell over dead. It was horrific. This year there are two beautiful babies that are about 2 weeks old now. They will leave the nest in about 8 weeks or so. Its amazing to watch the parents take care of them and feed them and love them. Its ingrained in them to care for those eggs and then when they hatch to care for those babies.

I have been tutoring two children on Mondays. I go to the elementary school and meet with them separately and try to help them. They are the two worst readers in the class. The little girl has done amazing but the little boy is always distracted and his clothes are filthy. Yesterday he mentioned how much his stomach hurt. I asked him if he had breakfast and he said that he didn't because they were late. I was horrified!!!!!!! Who sends their 7 year old to school with no breakfast!!!!! You may ask how this relates to eagles...... Well, its amazing to me to see the care and feeding the eagles give their young. Some humans don't have that in them.

Anyway, I hope you check out these eagles. They are truly magnificant creatures.

I'm so in love with Alexandra and David and am hoping this year has a happy ending. Happy (much belated) anniversary. Is your condo safe from the fires? I'm so glad we got to see you! I miss you...come visit!!
