Spring

Spring.....oh how I love spring.  For most of the winter we look at this in our back yard..

Dried up Lantana.

So on Saturday when Jim said we were going to stay home and do work around the house (BAWW) I was disappointed.  So, after grocery shopping and shoe shopping (Yah! for new running shoes), I finally decided it was time to get serious.  Doing laundry in the house on a 70 degree day was not too exciting so I soon joined Jim outside to help cut back the trees and bushes.

I was soon super interested after I cut off the dead stuff because I saw this....

And poking through the dead leaves was this..
Purple Lantana

While getting serenaded by this...

A beautiful Goldfinch

I also noticed that the apple tree will soon be blossoming

The roses have lots of new growth

In fact....the roses never quit blooming this winter

So after a particularly stressful week full of water leaks, being home alone (Jim had a quick trip to San Diego), and a stressful job, I could finally let go and enjoyed the little beauties that are right in front of me.

My cutie pie puppy dog, Princess

Friendly Goldfinches
Oh, and last week, did anybody see the sliver of a moon?

Ok, so just remember, wherever you are.... spring is coming.  Really it is.....!  Today it was 74 degrees in Tucson.

Wow--love the bursts of color in these pictures. This reassurance did me good--the sun tried to peek through today, but couldn't quite cut the gray. Ah, Washington. :)

Great pictures Donna! I did see the moon and it was beautiful!! What kind of roses do you grow there? I've had luck with knock-out's but they aren't as pretty as yours.
