So, yesterday morning was a lovely morning. I was enjoying the sunrise like I do every morning. It has just been magnificent lately. I sat here on the couch and enjoyed this view (below) while I drank my coffee and chatted with my handsome husband.

Love was in the air.
My dear husband left for work.
I went upstairs to get ready for my morning run when I heard this big BANG against the living room window.
I ran downstairs to see what happened and if it was all ok and there it was. Right in the middle of the living room window. A bird strike...and it left a MESS.
At this point I am starting to gag. Really, why does this happen when I'm home by myself. I can't leave it there to bake in the sun all day. I am starting to get physically ill thinking about having to go out there and clean up the carnage.
I wander around the house trying to decide what to do. It just cant wait for Jim. I texted him a photo but assured him I would clean it up once I got my stomach settled.
I got the window cleaner and the paper towels and went out there. I can do this. I am tough. I will not be sick....
I start wiping the window and WHAT IS THIS. Seriously, there are little black specks everywhere in the carnage. AND then I understand what happened. The poor bird had a nice ripe plump saguaro fruit in its mouth while it was flying. When it hit the window, the saguaro fruit exploded. It was not guts and blood. Just fruit. Whew.
The poor bird lie dying in the bushes. So I went out and pulled him up. It was a beautiful white winged dove. Poor thing. It was either dying or dead but sometimes they come back to life so I laid him out on the path to see if he would revive. It was probably the beautiful dove that I took a picture of sitting on the top of the saguaro eating the fruit in my last post. Seriously, Doves are kind of clumsy flyers and with the fruit in his mouth he just couldn't get the altitude he needed to miss the window.
So, what started out as a beautiful day for that dear bird ended badly. He started out sitting atop a saguaro eating a fruit. Watching the sun rise. Life was so good. He decided to take the fruit someplace special when disaster struck.
I went out later and rigor mortis had started to set in. Truly dead. RIP.
Ok, that's it for this story. Have a good day.

Awww...poor dove! That is kind of funny though that the fruit was the splat (thankfully)!
Yowzers, sorry about the passing of the poor dove, glad that it was't his guts splattered across the window, although I suppose the outcome was the same.
There is a lesson in this story for me.
The dove was holding onto something good, not a thing wrong with it except it was too heavy for it to fly properly with it. This then contributed to the tragic outcome. Sometimes I’m like that, justifying myself for doing something by saying or thinking, “There’s nothing wrong with it.” However if it’s not what I am supposed to be holding onto at the time the result could end up being just as tragic. What started off to be a good and glorious morning was translated into a small tragedy. I’m going to work at this today, I’m going to make sure I let go of what may be holding me back, then I can get the altitude I need to get above the things that could potentially cause my demise.
The adventure here continues, today the dumpster arrives at the house in town so the purging and cleaning can begin in earnest. Only very few days until Cubber leaves for his summer job, Kelsey is officially done school, waiting to see if her average was high enough to make the Honor Roll for the second time this year. She’s not working as much this summer, first on her agenda is some time with Jelayne at Salmon Arm in BC. One of the young mom’s from town is going out and Kelsey is going with her.
I am glad you shared this story, thanks once again.
