One thing I guess I will share because I think its a good thing. A while back I was sharing some of my photos of the Grand Canyon with someone. He worked at a mailing store and asked me "Why are you not making cards to sell at our store?" The company I work for also owns the store.
So, I put a couple cards together and had them printed up on card stock. When I got them back from the printer I emailed this guy and asked him if I could bring them over. He said that they didn't have room for cards right now but I could come over and meet the manager. I went over and met the manager and showed him my cards. He loved them (I could tell) and he said he would buy all I had and wanted more.
They buy them outright from me and then mark them up and sell them so I get the profit immediately. I was quite shocked. He said he didn't have room for them but he would buy another rack to put them on.
I had to order additional stock for him and when I took it over on Friday he said he would be interested in more different photos and during the holidays maybe some snow photos. Several people at work saw one of the cards with the Grand Canyon photo and two people wanted poster prints of it. Wow. I cannot tell you how happy I am that people like my photography. Its so amazing to me. I put several of the photos at the end of this post with the sayings on them. I hesitate to sell my photography because its only a hobby. I'm not going to make much money on it and I don't want to take it too seriously.
I'm not that good but I do enjoy it. Kind of like my singing.
Anyway, so that's the latest news. I'm so thankful for those who have encouraged me. Its hard sometimes to kind of stick your neck out for fear it will get cut off. Here is a few photos from this week.

Donna, I think that is great news! Your photography is amazing, you are able to capture some great moments. It may not be a lot of money, but sharing that part of you is such a reward as it does give joy to others. Congratulations!
I am supposed to be working, however I took a few minutes to stop by and I just have to comment. I am a huge fan... yes I know you know that. But I wanted to state it again for the record. I am so thrilled this worked and I look forward to the next installments. Also noting the fact that you are now "under contract" to produce some snow pictures you are going to have to break down and come and visit us in Canada in Winter. I know it will be cold, but we will make sure you have the required clothes to dress accordingly and it will be a grand and glorious adventure... You will also get some stunning pictures from it all. I will start planning immediately and will email you tickets once its arranged... Yes I realize its well out of yours and Jim's comfort zone... but after the fact you both will have had so much fun you will wholeheartedly forgive me!
Now on a serious note. I am thrilled that this has worked. I know you love taking pictures... I love your pictures. Its a gift and I enjoy them.
Have an excellent day.
Ditto the above comment!! Love the pictures! You live in such a unique place that has a beauty like no other! Glad it worked out for the cards! It doesn't hurt that Nala is so cute either! We had a Rhodesian Ridgeback in Ranger's dog training class. Beautiful sweet dog! Know you enjoy her as much as she enjoys living with you!!
