Oh Canada!

I've just returned from a visit to Alberta, Canada from Sept 19-27. I had a wonderful visit with my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends in the Grand Prairie/Hythe area. My dad flew up from Seattle and I met him there and we stayed with my cousins, Norm and Judy Wilson, at Hythe. My Auntie Hilda Wilson (my dads sister) lives with them. My dad, Uncle Emil Webber, and I drove to Edmonton last Thursday to visit another uncle, Uncle Arnold Webber and his wife, Aunt Murial. We drove back to Hythe the same day - about a 5 hour trip each way. Anyway, Norm and Judy are in the middle of harvesting the canola, wheat and barley but it started raining and so they had to stop until the sun comes out again for a few days. It was fun to see the harvest anyway.
I have tons of photos but for now I'll just post some family photos. Hopefully tomorrow I'll post some scenery and other stuff I saw up there.

Eldon Wilson (my cousin -Auntie Hildas son) with his girlfriend, Marge.

Mervin Webber (uncle Dans son with his kids, Jesse, Katelyn, Melissa and Ashley)

Darryl Webber (my cousin - Uncle Dans son) and wife, Jen, and their 4 children, Owen, Aiden, Samuel and Luke.

Uncle Dan (my dads brother) and his wife, Lavila.

Tyson (the moose hunter) and his wife, Katherine, and their two cuties, Blake and Ryden.

Uncle Emil Webber (My dads brother) and his wife, Wendy.

Uncle Emil, me, Uncle Arnold (my dads brother) and his wife, Murial.

And my dad.

So, just out of curiousity...is there anybody in blogland thats met any of my relatives? I don't think I have many Canadian readers but you never know, maybe some of you have been to Hythe convention, which is at Norm and Judy's place.

Anyway, I probably post more photos tomorrow. I had a great time.

Hi Donna, I'm not a Canadian reader - but I am Lavilas cousin. Does that make us almost related? Somewhere halfway to Adam? I think I met you at Bonners many years ago. I remember gramma Grace and your mom in the pantry. Did you girls help out in there too? We still go to Bonners every year. I live in Washington - somewhere south of Seattle :-) Glad you got to have a trip up north and see all the relatives. Love your blog too!

We are almost related apparently. Judy is my sister-in-law Vicky's sister. (Vicky was previously married to my brother Scott). So...Judy and I share nephews Cody & Dallas. I didn't know you were related to them. Small world!

Hi Donna.

You have no idea who I am and I can't even remember how I got to your blog. Wow!! I know all those people. Arnold and Emil - remember them from when i was a little girl in Alberta. We lived in B.C. - near Hythe for a few years after I was married so got to know the folks there a bit too. It was so good to see pictures of Emil and Wendy and Arnold and Muriel. Haven't seen them for a few years now. There you go - you never know who's going to stumble across your blog. Oh and - I know those Alberta workers too. My niece is a cousin of Derek Hurlburt's. A very small blogworld indeed.

Wow, its so good to hear all your comments. Its amazing to hear from those of you I don't know but know my family. Joyce, I don't remember you but my mom said that she remembers you. I'm sorry I don't remember. If you see my family up there at all you will have to make yourself known. We all go up to Milltown but you probably go to Olympia.

Debbie, thank you so much for your comments too. It is amazing who you "meet" in blogland. Its such a fun way to keep connected. The workers up there are amazing. I just loved them all so much in the little time I spent with them. Adrian Sinclair loves Daisy just as much as I do so we hit it off good and Daisy took us both for a walk, and Shanna too. Such a fun trip to see all my family up there. They are all special to me. ;-)

Oh my goodness. I've just now got it all figured out. We're related Donna. Well, in a very shirt tail fashion. An Uncle that married a lady that's brother married your Auntie. Hows that for good old Canadian Family Trees. Got that??

Oh Debbie, that is so cool. Which auntie? Auntie Hilda or Auntie Pauline? Wow! I'm so glad you posted that. So amazing.

It would be your A. Pauline. She was married to Arnold Langmo. My Auntie Alice was a Langmo. You might have heard about her - she was killed this spring in an accident in Calgary - a police van was stopped at a red light and then decided to turn on his siren and proceed through the intersection. Auntie Alice and her friend were already in the intersection and were hit. It was all very sad. Anyhow - Auntie Alice's husband Harris was my Dad's brother. Good grief. It really is a small world. I can tell you more - make it even smaller. We live in a small town in B.C. and your cousin Susan's brother in law and sister in law live here too!!! How's all that?

I did hear about your Auntie Alice. Auntie Pauline was visiting right around then. I think it happened right after she got back. Didn't it happen in May? Yes, it a small world.

My e-mail is donnaruthruff@yahoo.com I'd love to stay in touch.

Donna, yes we do go to Olympia since we live so close to the grounds, but if one of our kids goes to Milltown then we do go up for the day. So maybe next summer we'll get to do that again. Would be fun to meet you too. Do you ever hear from Larissa? Thanks for all the pictures - I have really enjoyed them.
