Fun with the animals

I don't have much to blog about these days.  I actually am working on some projects and I will post pictures but I'm going to wait until I'm done with them so I can show you before/after photos.   So, I've been very busy this week doing that...which I'm not going to tell you about yet.

So, I was wondering were all the animals were this week.  We have tons of birds here that I love watching but its nice to see a coyote or two, or something.

Today, the Javalina showed up.  I was glad to see them back.  I'm sure they are here more than we see them.  We can tell because the grass gets all trampled down and the trail that they use is all freshly trodden.

I usually have birds at the bird feeder.....Not Javalina.

The baby Javalina.  I'm guessing he is about 3 months old now since his adult furr is coming in and he is darker than he was a month ago.

The video below is from this morning. I was running late to work and I glanced out the window and there was one Javalina. Then they all showed up to play. So amusing. Its hard to leave when I just want to watch them play.

This one is from a week or so ago. They seems like a morning ritual. This video (Below) was shot on the 4th of July. There is a palo verde beetle walking through the yard to the minor amusement of the Javalina. I was hoping they would eat it or something but they just let it go. The little baby is so cute.

This evening when I got home from work the Javalina came back.  It was 104 degrees out and they were hot.
So this guy jumps in to cool off
Then another one jumps in.  How many Javalina can fit in a water trough.

Cardinal

Male Gila Woodpecker

White winged dove getting a drink from the drip system.

I couldn't figure out what happened to this guy.  He looked really sick.  Then I realized that he too took a bath.  He was in the puddle by the drip system.
Male House Finch

Female Gila Woodpecker

Female house finch.  How come all the male birds are more colorful?  NOT FAIR.

Today started of cloudy and cool here, now we are seeing the clouds begin to breakup and sunshine appear.

My computer crashed this morning so I did get a large bunch of paperwork completed, however felt like I lost my right hand without my computer. The IT department has worked its magic however and I am back in business.

I love the fact that we are looking forward to some interesting posts in the near future. I will check in again before to long.

Thanks for posting.
