Mini Indy

Yes, thats Jim in the photo with his hands in his pockets.

In March, Jim was chosen by his company (as well as about 7 others) to represent them in the Mini Indy races in St. George, UT. http://www.miniindy.org/ He did not take our camera (too big) but he was suppose to get a disk of photos with team photo, etc. I was waiting until I got some photos before I posted about it but So far we haven't gotten it. So, I found these photos on the internet.

Anyway, every year an airlines based in St George sponsers this go-cart race. The companies that race are all from the aerospace industry or the city of St. George. The profits of the race to go to charity. So they flew Jim and his team to Vegas on a Thursday where they rented a car and drove to St. George, UT. They had a room at the Hilton. Thursday night they went out to dinner at some high priced steak house that served "wild" meat (elk, venison, and beef, of course). Friday they practiced racing the go-Kart and Friday night there was an auction and banquet as well as pit stop competitions, etc. Saturday was the "big" race. Sunday he came home. They won for the best looking car and "almost" won the pit stop competiton. They didn't win the race though.

They all had race uniforms, race shoes, hats, they gave him $150 Oakley sunglasses. Anyway, although he really didn't want to go he ended up having a pretty good time. I'm glad he went. I wish I could have gone with him.
