May 13 - Skagway, AK

We arrived in Skagway in the early morning. We disembarked and took the White Pass and Yukon scenic train. These tracks were buildt in 1898 during the gold rush. These tracks go over the same territory as those who came here those many years ago to seek their fortune and strike it rich in Alaska. We went back to the ship for lunch and we had a wonderful afternoon. We had dinner at the fanciest restaurant on the ship, called Cagneys. It was by far the best food we had on the trip. We were sitting at dinner as the ship pulled away from Skagway. Another breathtaking day.

Good old Skagway. I worked there one summer... I think it was in 1983.

Wow Lane! What could possibly take you to Skagway for work? Did you work in a cannery or something like that?
